PEGGY KARR glass , the premier American designer of fused glass, combines techniques of the ancient Mesopotamia's with contemporary designs to present colorful and distinctive glassware for home and table. The studio fuses glass much the same way it was done 3500 years ago. Vibrant colors are fired between layers of clear glass, a technique that seals and protects the design from wear and fading forever.              The artisans hand decorate clear, flat glass with brilliant enamels. A second layer of glass is then placed over the design. Set on a mold and kiln-fired to 1500oF, the piece now takes on the shape of its mold and all the layers of glass and color fuse together to become one.  The   layering and fusing process results  in rich surface texture and dramatic visual qualities including bubbles.
